What can I expect during my first visit?

Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment to fill out paperwork.
Make sure you have eaten before an acupuncture treatment and please wear comfortable clothing so that knees, elbows, ankles are easily accessible.

Are the needles painful?

The majority of the time, no.  Acupuncture needles are approximately the size of a single strand of hair.  You can expect to feel anything from nothing at all to a slight prick that should quickly subside.

How long will the treatment take?

Expect your first visit to take about 90 minutes.  Following treatments are 45-60 minutes.

How long will the treatment last?

This will vary depending on each individual, the condition we're treating, and how long you have had the condition.  Sometimes a single treatment is all it takes; however, it will generally take about 5-10 treatments to obtain a lasting outcome.

Is Acupuncture covered by insurance?

Many insurance companies now cover Acupuncture.  Please contact your insurer directly to find out if your plan covers Acupuncture.  At this time I do not accept insurance; however, I can provide you with a Super Bill that you can send in to your insurance company for reimbursement.  Flex-spending cards are also accepted and can be used just like a debit or credit card.
